the HFC Network. Designed to provide 1 GHz of bandwidth to the home, the HFC network
has been carrying video, voice, and data services for decades. With new platforms and
technologies like virtual CCAP and DOCSIS® 3.1, these fiber-rich networks will have the
ability to transport 1 Gbps to the home. However, there is a problem lurking on the horizon.
